I am from Miami and I recentley moved here to Lithonia, and it is a far cry from there. Miami is dangerous! any where is better than there. Ga is kinda off the chain, but it's better than Miami. The only scary thing is, you don't know anyone, but the people are pretty friendly

Wow! I am afraid. I guess words can hurt. My Grandchildren are moving there with their parents. They are sweet loving people. Would not hurt a fly. You people make it sound like they are moving into the pits of Hell. I pray God will protect them and you.

My husband & I are relocating to Ellenwood Ga in Dekalb county from Allentown Pa. Is Ellenwood on the Dekalb side a good place to raise our 4 boys?

Im asking everyone lets not give up on our community! I just joined The Committee to Revive Ellenwood. They are trying to Incorporate Ellenwood into its own City, which I support 100%, its time for us to start taking care of our own community.

I also grew up on the Dekalb county side of Ellenwood, its been about 12 years since our family moved away, but I can say that Ellenwood is a mostly residential rural area on the outskirts of 4 counties. I remember after the Olympics in 96, the area exploded with growth. As for as crime is concerned, home burglary was an issue for us. Im not completely sure because at the time we didn't have internet forums like this to talk about this subject but I think the neighbors had the same issue and I think the reason for this is that alot of properties are very secluded on wooded lots and since they are away from most populated areas but just close enough to the urban city crowd, the homes were basically a sitting duck for criminal activity. Its nice to hear that they want to incorporate that area, I think it would help with crime. As for the schools, well, at the time, not so good, but I dont know what its like now. Every now and then I take the Scenic route thru there on the way home.

Hello, I am moving to Georgia and I am online looking at some houses for rent. My price range to rent is from 550-800 a month. I prefer middle class area, peace and quiet with easy access to shopping centers and not too far from the city of atlanta. Can you tell me which area is the best: Ellenwood, Jonesboro or McDonough?

Seeing as though this thread is many years old, you need to start a brand new thread with your question as the topic so that you can receive the maximum number of replies from posters who can help you with what you are looking for in particular.

When you do start the new thread, let it be known what part of the metro area you will be working in so that someone who lives in or near that area can help guide you as to where to look.

That's because living decisions in Metro Atlanta are best made with one's rush hour commutes in mind because of Atlanta's notorious rush hour commutes.
