Don't forget about Brookhaven in 30319. The county line (Fulton/DeKalb) runs through the neighborhood. There are several condo complexes along Peachtree which might have rentals. Pine Hills and Ridgedale Park are in Sarah Smith. Just be sure to look in Fulton not DeKalb.
Sarah Smith is a great neighborhood and I think has less chance of being involved in redistictring than Brandon and Warren. Brandon has had redistricting several times over the last few years.
Also, with my neighbors in Brookhaven, there is a huge push to support Sutton Middle and there is strong parental support and major improvements at that school.
The pricing in real estate is starting to come down and there are several good buys out there right now.

Hope you can all help. I am looking to buy or secondly, last resort, rent in either Morris Brandon, Jackson, or Sarah Smith school districts. I have a 2 year old grandson who need a home....preferrably not an apartment or town Home. I know I am looking for a needle in a haystack, but am looking towards the 200K mark. Thanks for any input MBK411@aol

My son attended Morris Brandon. I just want to give a fair warning. The children are not bias to socioeconomic issues, but the school is. It is common for them to ask for donations of increments of $100, $500, $1000, and $5000. For field trips that cost $20-$40, they send home a form saying that you do not HAVE to pay, but verbally say another thing. Most of the mothers there are not working mothers, so if you have a job BEWARE, they may lable you and your child. We did not have a good experience there, so I want to make sure that I give a realistic picture of the school. As it is public knowledge that they have a certian heir about them and it is very true. Beware!!!!

No East Cobb is no comparison with Smith, Brandon or Jackson. Buckhead schools have an incredibly rigorous curriculum that don't compare to most private schools in Atlanta. You just have to be willing to sacrifice in order to live in those districts. It's either worth the sacrifice or it isn't. I'm a single mom with a child at one of the schools mentioned above and I never feel "left out". Perception is reality... Just saying.

What on earth did you google in order to find a 6 year old thread to reply to with your first post?

Sutton Middle School also has a tradition of excellence (IB curricula, etc) It is just more diverse (socially and economically) than Sarah Smith, Warren T. Jackson, and Morris Brandon.
