Does anyone live in the Wolf Creek Golf Club area? Is that a part of South Fulton? If so, can you tell me your opinion re: crimes, schools, activities, commute to downtown, etc.)? I’m looking at homes in the Regency Oaks subdivision off Camp Creek Pkwy., which is approx. 3 miles from there. Is this area okay?

wolf creek is a very nice country club, and the camp creek sandtown area is growing a lot and is very nice. A lot of upper class African Americans are moving there. I'd say it's the best place to buy property in Atlanta, I think it will be a very nice area as it grows. Close to downtown and the airport as well

I'd have to agree with Tdiddy0027. The areas is very nice.. lots of large nice homes and the schools in that area are within the Fulton County School disctict. The elemetary would probably be Sandtown Elementary or A. Phillip Randolph; Middle School would be Campcreek Middle.. and be leary or Bunche Middle School (I went there when I was young.. its hit a low) and High School would be Westlake High School and for the most part these are upstanding public schools. If you decide to move there, you will not be disappointed. This area, in laymen terms, is an area where careered, upstanding Black folks live.

Oh and about the crime, you dont have to worry about much of that.. its pretty safe. Although lots of the newer homes arent built with good security systems or even good sturdy locks.. you may want to invest in that. Just a word to the wise.

I live in the Wolf Creek area - a couple of streets over. Biggest issues are teh speeding drivers on Camp Creek Pkwy. Wheenver a light turns green, I just sit there for about 10 - 15 seconds and look both ways. Someone is always going too fast to slow down and there have been several accidents because of it.

Crime.... Honestly, there are a LOT of break-ins. I think people have been lax about security because we "feel" we should be safe.

1. But you MUST get security doors on all doors of your house. Houses that have security doors seem to always get skipped over. The reason for getting them: houses are not built very sturdy and robbers can actually just kick your front/back doors in, disable your alarm system and have free reign to your home.

2. Alarm System: Get an outdoor siren that sounds loudly outside to at least let neighbors know something is going on and get a "cellular" or "wireless" backup. Thieves are routinely pulling the phone lines outside so when they break in your house, the alarm company doesn't even get notified. Wireless signal goes out regardless of the phone lines.

3. Having dogs is always a good security system.

4. My hubby got us something called "security film" put onto all the downstairs windows that makes them nearly unbreakable.

Our house was broken into a week before Christmas in 2009 and we learned that we were the 8th house that week to get hit just in our subdivision.

We have some friends who live in Wolf Creek and they have had break-ins too.

If you properly protect your home, you should be fine. But don't just move in to any house and leave it as-is. You're set up as a target right from the start.

Don't want to scare you away; we've loved our neighborhood but we were lax and got hit...
