I'm moving to the city in May/June. My girlfriend will be living in Buckhead and I will probably be transferring to a Ruth's Chris Steakhouse (where i currently work here in Louisiana) in either Buckhead or Sandy Springs. What are some good areas for me to reside in. I'm hoping to find a 1 BR apt. for a decent price in the area (which probably won't be in Buckhead on my budget). Anyway, thanks for replies in advance.
John A.

Try Brookhaven, Vinings or the Chastain Park area. Post apartments are everywhere and you may be surprised how inexpensive they are. You can also get some deals on individual places (rentals in historic homes) in Midtown by looking on Craigslist.

There are some affordable places in Brookhaven as well as Vinings, but you can find deals in Buckhead as well. They have really over-saturated the market with condos there. Also try Rentclicks.com as they have single owner condos and houses. Oodle.com is also good. If you do locate to Sandy Springs, you might want to consider somewhere in-between because the commute will not be fun.
