Hey everyone. I am currently an undergrad in Chicago and just getting so sick of the cold weather! I am very seriously considering a move to Atlanta, hoping to attend Emory Law School in the next 2 years. I will be visiting the city for a few days in March and am just wondering what suggestions you can give me as far as good areas to visit, neighborhoods I should look into, and just anything in the city that is an absolute must see! I figure I am going to take a day or two to just drive around and explore the city so I would appreciate any suggestions. Thanks!

The neighbourhood around Emory is fine. Lots of places to live in the Briarcliff LaVista Rd area. As for places to visit, the best places my out of town people seem to like are stone mountain, the MLK memorial, the aquarium and CNN. If you take Briarcliff Rd which runs outside Emory to Ponce De Leon Ave, you will find a variety of places to eat going west towards downtown.
Some areas of the city get a bit dangerous after nightfall so be careful about anything you do after dark.

There is a lot to see and do in Midtown which is adjacent to the main campus of Emory.
atlanta-midtown.com | guide to Atlanta's intown neighborhoods | Morningside, Virginia-Highland, Midtown, Druid Hills, Decatur

VA Highland is about 1 mile from Emory and there are many restaurants and shops and it's a good place for people watching.

The area around Piedmont Park includes Inman Park, Ansley Park, Candler Park, Morningside, Lenox Park and Midtown. This is minutes from downtown. Historic homes and a diverse area with young professionals.

Decatur is about 5 minutes from Emory on Clairmont Rd. and there are numerous gathering places for 20-30's somethings and the community hosts events throughout the year.

Little 5 Points is home to many creative types and located off Moreland Ave--about 5 miles from Emory.
