I will be working in the heart of the Georgia Tech Campus for a few days next month and need help finding the right hotel.

I would like to be close to the middle of campus, but also walking distance to some restaurants / college hangouts ect. Like to keep it under $200 a night

Any ideas? Thanks!

Depending on exactly where you are on campus either the GT Hotel in Tech Sqaure (which George posted) or the Hampton Inn - GA Tech‎ will be the closest. The Hampton is a <10 min walk to the center of campus. The GT Hotel would be a longer walk (maybe 15-20 mins) but also has a GT Trolley stop in front that takes you to most on campus locations. The GT Hotel is pretty much in the middle of midtown Atlanta and is within walking distance to a boatload of restaurants, including all of the 5th St ones which are mainly frequented by GT students (Tin Drum, 5Th St Ribs and Blues, Moes, Globe, and St. Charles Deli)

The Renaissance Atlanta is also nearby. If you have a car it is a very short drive, otherwise you can walk to the nearest GT trolley stop to get anywhere.

GT Hotel is your best bet. You might consider the Regency Suites on 10th and West Peachtree as well if you cannot get a room at the GT Hotel.

Will you be working with a particular department on campus? If so, ask them to get you the GT discount rate at the GT Hotel.

Didn't the new Palomar just recently open? It seems like I read something about that...

There is a Marriott Courtyard on Techwood Ave...they sponsor sporting events at Tech. There is also a highrise Renaissance Hotel on West Peachtree Street at North Avenue - very near campus, by the Varsity.

The hotel is accepting guests on April 29. It is more reasonable than I thought...
