Hi there! Looking to spend the summer in Alpharetta. We have two children, 7 and 8, and want to enroll them in a day camp program for the time that we are there. Does anyone know about dance camps? Is there a JCC with a summer camp program? Maybe basketball? Any input, greatly appreciated!! Thanks in advance!

The JCC is in Dunwoody but they do have buses from Alpharetta. They also have a branch in East Cobb, but I am not sure about the bus part.

Here is the link.

Atlanta Parent Magazine has an awesome camp issue.

Good luck!

Thanks! Would you know how far Alpharetta/Milton would be from the camps at the JCC?

I would probably say 45 minutes w/ stops. Alpharetta being the first. The closest stop to you would be the Publix shopping plaza at Old Milton/Kimball Bridge. My son takes the bus from Alpharetta. The bus from Alpharetta goes to the Dunwoody/Zaban Park campus.

There is also High Meadow is Roswell that is popular too. It is not associated w/ the JCC nor is it a Jewish camp but people really like it. I think by this point it is full but the JCC probably has openings.

Here is the JCC camp website http://atlantajcc.org/index.php?src=...egory=DayCamps

The JCC should have weekly sports camps -- you can pick and choose camps by your kids interests.

I don't know about baton/twirl programs. Did you check the Atlanta Parent link I sent you? That is a very specific/specialized program that you may be unlikely to find here.

High Meadows is suppose to be great but I'm not sure if there are any openings and you have to sign up for 3 weeks sessions.

Any familiarity with the YMCA camp program or the Wills Park camp? I have spoken with both facilities, but it would be nice if anyone who has experience with either would chime in... thanks!
