What are your opinions of Glenwood Park and Enclave at Grant Park? What are the differences between the two areas and how do each stack up to say... Decatur City considering all the factors that a young family would consider when moving to a new home/neighborhood (schools, community, cost, taxes, lifestyle, diversity, amenities, crime, culture, pluses, minuses, projected status in say... 10 to 15 years, etc.)?

Thanks...

The Enclave is right next to Trestletree Apartments. The neighborhood organizations have been trying to work with the management to get crime under control. I would not live next to this complex.

Default Glenwood Park

I love Glenwood Park. I live around the corner from it and would live there if I could afford it. Very nice, right next to I-20, has pool (but expensive), and has Vickeries - my fave!!!. Nice mix of people.

I love Glenwood Park too. I have never sold anything there but the folks that I have met that live there love it.

Glenwood Park - Atlanta's New Urban Community

I especially like their commitment to not having big chain stores. I like "mom and pop" stores/businesses. I also think it is a great example of a new planned urban community.

The Village at Grant Park is another neighborhood similar to the Enclave. When we were buying a home in the area - we decided on this neighborhood over the Enclave because it was more tucked away, it is gated, has a pool, and has fenced in backyards. It is also 1st tier for the Neighborhood Charter School (I can't remember if the Enclave is as well). It has very similar features, comparable in size, and was much cheaper. Glenwood Park was not built yet - but from what I have seen - its much more expensive. So it's well worth the 1/2 mile drive to the restaurants and whatnot in Glenwood Park for the lower cost of housing in Grant Park. I also believe that Glenwood is not in the 1st tier Charter School district.

Grant Park in general is a great area for young families. It has the 2nd largest greenspace in Atlanta and is home to the Atlanta Zoo, Cyclorama, and Oakland Cemetery. There are lots of great restaurants and it's really a diverse area with a very active neighborhood association and a lot of residents who really care about the area.

We've lived there for 5 years and love it - I'll PM you a specific link to more information on the Village at Grant Park - but let me know if you have any more specific questions on the area.
