Hi,

My husband and I are thinking about buying a house on Hill Street in Grant Park and noticed that it seems to get a little more "edgy" the further west you get from the park. We're familiar with the crime statistics of the east side and Grant Park in general - we have a dog, plan to put in a fence and have lots of lighting - but I'm hoping that someone who lives in the area can give me an idea of the crime on Hill Street. Is it pretty in line with the rest of Grant Park, or is it more like the Turner Stadium area? I'm talking about Hill St. a little south of Georgia Ave.

We're in our mid-late 20s and fairly adventurous, but we like to know what we're jumping into before we take the plunge. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I have friends that have lived at the corner of Glenwood and Hill for 12 years. They've never had a problem, knock wood.

i'm also mid-late 20's & live on the east side of the park....my impression is that hill st is a dividing line of sorts -- it gets edgy west of there. i'd say the location you're talking about is much more like GP than turner field crimewise. crime threat is probably higher than the rest of GP, but not by much. i haven't heard of much crime at all lately compared to a few months ago....there were incidents every day vs once/week or less in the last couple of months.
