I will be relocating with my company and working in Henry County, right off of the highway.

Can anyone suggest towns and/or counties to check out for houses? We don't have any children yet, but that is a future plan so an area with good schools is a plus.

Also, my wife will need to find work. She works in commercial real estate (not as a broker). Is she better off going into Atlanta or looking for work in our surrounding area?

Thanks for any info.

My favorites on the southside are Stockbridge, McDonough, Fayetteville and Peachtree City. They all can be a long drive into Atlanta, Stockbridge would probably be the shortest drive. As far as commercial Real Estate, your wife might be able to find something on the southside but almost all business takes place in Atlanta or on the northside. There aren't any major employment centers on the southside (other then the airport).

Peachtree City and McDonough are two great options. Also, you may want to consider some neighborhoods towards the northside if you want to be near your wife's job, since she will more than likely end up working somewhere north of I-20. Your commute to Henry County would be a reverse commute with relatively light traffic.
