It used to be pretty with all the trees and shopping centers and brick buildings but it's become rediculously over-developed for that distance from the urban core. If you're going to put up with alpharetta traffic and pay alpharetta prices, you might as well move closer in.
Um, East Cobb really has evolved into the epicenter for Metro Atlanta Jews.

East Cobb is several zip codes.

Main East Cobb Zip Codes: 30068, 30067, 30062, 30066, 30075. The zip codes will have Marietta (30068, 30067, 30062, 30066) or Roswell (30075) addresses.

(For the record, very small parts of East Cobb do have Kennesaw or Woodstock addresses.)

For maximum "Jewish Family Friendliness" focus in this order: 30068, 30062, 30075, 30067, 30066.

I hope this helps. Good Luck!

It seems like this epicenter moves around quite a bit here. 30 years ago it used to be the Skyland area along Buford hwy. I wonder where it will be 30 years from now.

It's not that it "moves" per se...for example, there are still a lot of Jews in Dunwoody, Sandy Springs, and the Old Henderson High Area of North DeKalb...but they're largely empty nesters...not as many families like the past (lastminutemom has already remarked about this).

I predict that when East Cobb becomes more Sandy Springs-Dunwoodyish, the Jewish Family Epicenter may be in Cherokee or Forsyth.

East cobb was no man's land 30 years ago. Roswell & that was the end of the line and even then Jews didn't live there. So it had to have moved.

I will say that Alpharetta is all young families, children all over the place but it's not like they are really going to be exposed to many other jewish children. Sunday school or other religious/hebrew school is probably not going to be very nearby and the "J" is in Dunwoody so...

How often do you think the OP hears "Have a blessed day" down there in Weston, FL?

(see highlighted above): Newcomers, Influx.

(see underlined above): Alpharetta/North Fulton has a significant Jewish presence...just not as much as East Cobb.

You're trying to play with a Big Dogg on Metro Atlanta knowledge...but you just caint keep up/compete...

This will help you find East Cobb.....go to jennypruitt.com or harrynorman.com (local RE websites)search by highschools and chose Walton Pope or Lassiter. All of these schools serve East Cobb. It is the easiest way to find homes specifically in East Cobb....trust me I know!
