Thank you all for the insight. I really wish I was familiar with the area. I guess I shouldn't have said bad areas. . . just less desirable. My husband will be working at NCR in Duluth. We have 3 kids so activities and great schools are very important. I'm leaning very heavily towards Suwanee.

In Suwanee, the less desirable area tends to be on the east side of I-85. Also, if your husband is commuting to NCR, it would be a better commute to be on the Gwinnett side of the Chattahoochee River, as crossing there tends to be a bottleneck. Check out Morningview subdivision in Suwanee; your husband will have a very easy commute. One website that my wife and I have used when we were looking for houses or just to be nosy is "Homeatlanta.com." Just click on the Atlanta MLS section and you can search by zip code, subdivision, price, etc.

Dacula to the NCR building will take 25-30 minutes. Not bad at all considering you will be about 18-21 miles away.

Mall of GA at Christmas? Not that bad.
If you know the back roads and of course with the completion of 324 and the back intersection to Costco the travels are no as bad. Granted, MOG is one of the largest in the east coast so you will have traffic during Santa time.

My husband and I are planning on moving and we are considering Duluth, but would consider others areas in Gwinnett County. What areas have you found to be the best. We are looking for an area that is family oriented because we have two small childdren and we want to do fun activities with them. We wants parks, tennis, swimming, etc. We also want really good schools, especially an area with a good middle and high school for the future. Out of all the cities that you know about in, which have you found best.

To get the best response, you should really start a new thread. Do you know where you will be commuting to? What is your price point? These are all questions better answered in a new thread. Also, read this, and you may understand better what to post.
