I take classes with teachers in both Alpharetta and Forsyth County and I have heard nothing but positive things.
I wouldn't completely avoid Lithonia, but, look into Lithonia in Gwinnett County, not the Dekalb part. I am all about great schools since I am a teacher!

Any further questions, let me know, I am always happy to guide new comers because I am a proud Georgia Peach!
Hi there,
I read your post and I am considering moving to Cumming or Alphebetta(sp) areas. I too have a daughter is school(6th grade) and would like any suggestions and or opinions on the area. We are looking to buy a home in a small type town but close enough for activities for my daughter and shopping etc wtihout having to go to Atlanta....I was raised in the Boston area and have no desire to live in the city or raise my daughter in one of that size. We are intestered in areas that are good for kids, schools and family orientated actvities as well as divercity and safety. thanks a bunch...Lisa

Peachtree Ridge High School in Suwanee/Duluth is excellent. Suwanee and Duluth run together, just make sure you live on the Gwinnett County side of Duluth instead of the Fulton County side. Fulton taxes are a lot more.

I live in Suwanee and love it. Plenty of shopping and activities, affordable housing, great schools, convenient to malls, medical facilities, and interstate.
