I will be moving to the Buckhead area in about 3 weeks. Anyone know where can I buy decent, affordable furniture without having to go to Ikea??

Big Lots?

Seriously, I've seen some stuff there I'd buy. I think.

I am not sure what you would classify as "decent furniture" since I would not put IKEA in this category, but you might try Rooms To Go. They have a location right at the corner of Peachtree Road and Piedmont. Good luck!

There are tons of very cool furniture warehouses on the Westside around Chattahoochee Ave., Huff Road, Ellsworth Industrial.

There are a couple of big discount furniture places (inluding rooms to go) up on Jimmy Carter Boulevard I believe. But seriously, why shun IKEA? I did my furniture shopping there when I was in college and I always thought I would shop at more "grown up" furniture store someday. But now that I'm married and have a family, I still find myself shopping at IKEA. For the combination of inexpensive and nice, I do not think IKEA can be beat.

My brother-in-law bought a bunch of stuff at furniture row on Jimmy Carter Blvd. The prices were so good, he actually made a profit when he sold the stuff a year later on Craigslist.

For the sake of clarity, the furniture stores "on Jimmy Carter" are actually on Dawson Blvd, which is the access road that runs along I-85 north just before Jimmy Carter Blvd.

Some types of furniture (tables, china cabinets) can often be found in antique stores for the same money as new furniture in retail stores.
