Grant park is fine - like most of Atlanta. I wouldn't run in any of these areas alone at night. This is a large city and there are crazies in every large city on the map - some of them even have cars.

Most runners run in the Piedmont Park, Virginia Highland area, and Inman Park area. Piedmont and Virginia Ave are the best place to run as there are lots of joggers. That is because it is "the place to live" and it has a *lot* of rentals that jogger type professionals like to rent. Lots of rentals = lots of people.

I live just off of Piedmont Park and have 20+ people jog by the house every day. I will say that my car is much more likely to get broken into here than Grant Park. Jog in Grant Park and you will see much fewer other joggers. All of these places are great for a jog.

If in town on a Wednesday, go to the corner of Virginia and Highlands at 7pm. Every jogger in town meets there for a fun run - every Wednesday. Or try this Atlantahash.com

I've actually settled on the place near Piedmont, so I seem to be set .

Including check out the "fun run" at Virginia/Highland... thanks for the tip.

Now I've found a place I like better in the Grant Park neighborhood, but I've never been to Grant Park itself, and I'm out of town for the summer so can't check it out.

Is Grant Park any good for running? I run long distance, in the 5-10 mile range, and prefer flat terrain. (Hills are okay, so long as it's not brutal and constant!) Also, I like to run at night before bed. How late do you think it would be safe to run there?

OH YEAH IT'S GOOD FOR RUNNING I HOPE YOUR GOOD AT IT CAUSE WHEN THOSE THUGS COME AFTER YOU YOU WILL GET ALL THE PRACTICE YOU NEED
