So, Sir Paul McCartney gives a benefit concert for Atlanta's Piedmont Park Conservancy expansion project on Saturday. Supposed to have been a "green" event-thus the official title. There were recycle and trash containers everywhere, to help ensure it. Signs urged people to help out and do their part in after concert clean up.

Well, guess what?! The whole place was left a great big disgusting trash heap/mess. And, very few containers for waste were utilized. In fact, many were completely empty AFTER the concert!!

What a crying shame that the majority of the concert goers left their blankets, rain gear, plastic bottles, beer cans, and all manner of trash, behind. And, thousands of people walked over mounds of trash. Never bothering to make an effort to help. Few bothered to pick up their own trash or lend a hand picking up trash on their way out.

If Sir Paul saw it, I guarantee he was not a happy camper about it! I can only imagine the impression it left on him. As it left me with a reinforced bad one I've carried around for years.

It was sort of a major point there, friend-duh!

Well one would think, that people who cared enough to pay big money for tickets to see and hear him, would at least care a little?!

It's the same concept as clearing your dinner plate from the table, and cleaning up after yourself. Have you ever heard of good manners? That's what the South is supposed to be about-lol. Unfortunately, there are far too many immature, selfish, big jerks out there NOW who don't give a rat's arse what ANYBODY thinks!

I'm guessing Dublin, Cochran, Dudley, Montrose, Jeffersonville or somewhere inbetween where hunters only take the best part of the deer meat, and leave the rest on the side of the road. Not caring about the stink that their neighbors and passer byers will be forced to endure. And of course not taking any personal responsibility for the disrespect and shear waste of such careless actions. Typical response.

Too many my friend. And enough redneck gatherings, too. We aren't talking politics here. But we are talking cleaning up after yourself. Not that difficult to "get" IMO.

All I am saying...is give a trash can a chance-LOL!

Go to Marietta Square concerts if you want to see what responsible people can do. It is very family oriented, never any trouble, and EVERYONE cleans up. Sure the trash cans can be overloaded, and maybe a few bit and peices here and there. Classy people!

It's just that sense of entitlement that Atlantans seems to have--the "I'm better than you mentality." I see it every day in the rude way people here act.
