Hi

I am in the Alpharetta/Canton area, does anyone know where I can get Nori (Seaweed) and Japanese round grain rice to make my own sushis?

Thanks a lot

Patrick

I don't know if they have those particular products, but there is a Super H Mart on the corner of Hwy 141 (Medlock Bridge) and Hwy 120 (Abbotts Bridge) in Johns Creek. They specialize in Asian foods.

Edit: From Canton that may be a bit far (probably 30 minutes). Whole Foods/Harry's doesn't have that stuff?

That was going to be my suggestion. We shop at the one in Marietta and get all kinds of stuff for Indian and Thai food.

Super H is a chain; we have them here in the Midwest. It's awesome! I'm so excited there's one down there. They have terrific meat. Whole Foods has some of the stuff, but for specialty Asian products, you want the Asian market.

By the way... I did want to ask this but forgot. Are there any great sushi restaurants down there?

The Super H in John's Creek will have it. Better Food Better Life H Mart There are 4 Super H Mart's in Atlanta and a 5th one is rumored to open in November. However, it was rumored to open last year.

Rockmama, there are plenty of top notched quality to inexpensive sushi (just need a fix of sushi) bars in Atlanta!

If your in Alpharetta. Go to Duluth on Pleasant Hill Road.
Directly across from the WalMart you will see a RaceTrack station. Behind it is the H Mart. Has everything you want and more.

On Pleasant Hill, it is about a mile and a half from Exit 104. If you come directly from Alpharetta on State Bridge / Pleasant Hill it will be on your left, past the park.

Here Super H Mart and Whole Foods are 2 miles apart on the same road.

That is fantastic news for me! Actually, Whole Foods has pretty good sushi for the quick fix. Now... you could really make a girl happy by telling me there's a Trader Joe's in the same area???? (She asks hopefully...)

I appreciate the tips. I have on my list to go to Harry's which is on my daily commute to check if they have it but I figured I would post here in case there was a better store.
The super H Mart is too far but I do on occasion drive this way so I will also check it out when I am close.
I also would be interested by sushis restaurant in the area, especially $1 sushis and buffet style places.
I walked into "Ru san's" 13085 Hwy 9 Suite 440 Alpharetta, GA 30004 last week and grabbed a menu, they had sushi buffet for $9.99(Lunch only), I asked the waiter if I could take a lot at the buffet and he said "Go right ahead".
The sushi buffet look really yummy, lots of "Nigiri" sushis (Salmon, tuna), I could make myself explode on these

Thanks to all

Patrick
