Audit slams Atlanta water billing, shutoffs *| ajc.com

“The facts are pretty straightforward,” said Leslie Ward, the city’s auditor. “The real story has been in the aftermath. I don’t think I’ve ever done an audit with indisputable evidence and the staff completely agreed with what happened, only to have the head of the department completely deny it. This is a new experience for me.”

The city encourages customers with issues that can’t be easily resolved, such as large water bills, to pay the disputed bill and then fill out a form available on the department’s Web site at The City of Atlanta | Department of Watershed Management.

So they wanut us to pay money we don't owe and hope we get it back someday.

And you expected what else from the inept people that run the City of Atlanta? They cannot even provide police service, how can you expect them to keep the water on?

I swear that bob hunter guy with watershed management is a complete scumbag for what he said on news today, saying that it's "policy" to just shut the water off if the customer doesn't pay.

People like him should be forced removed out of office, dragged to a local park, and thrown in a water fountain.

For there to not be a better policy in place for broken lines/meters and fixing them is absolutely disgraceful.
