Hi
I am a Londoner in Atlanta and am looking to rent a cosy party-hall or maybe an apartment to host a small, family party (50-70 people) in two weeks time - stone mountain or Norcross or Decauter area if possible. We would like to take our own food but if there is a bar area it would be great.

Please let me know if you know any places.

many thanks
hanna

I would contact DeKalb Convention and Tourism --they should know of something like that in Decatur or Stone Mountain.

Or there is Callaway Gardens--

One of my favorite places...

Go Here>>>
http://www.callawaygardens.com/

They have all kinds of cottages/cabins for rent --a lake, bicycle paths, the butterfly garden and beautiful flowers.

Pine Mountain, Ga--west of Atlanta--about 2hrs, IIRC.

sls

ETA: Gwinnett Convention & Tourism--for Norcross etc

I drive by and see places that might be available for a small party. Downtown Atlanta must have many such venues. Cannot think who would know. A realtor or a caterer maybe.

In order to bring your own food, you need like an Elks Lodge or something. Anywhere that serves food generally won't let you cater it yourself...

Elks Lodge

1775 Montreal Rd
Tucker, GA 30084

Here is where you can search for other Elks lodges.

I believe that many of the parks departments rent out facilities -- though alcohol may not be allowed.

We once had a party at the Garden Hills Recreation Center (in Buckhead)

The Garden Hills pool is still the heart of the neighborhood, a popular gathering place at East Wesley Road and Pinetree Drive. For information on pool facilities, call (404) 848-7220. A rustic clubhouse (built in the 1920s) with a large porch and fireplace had the feeling of a cabin tucked in woods.

"The Old Tucker Fountain" is available for party rental. It's on Main Street in Tucker, a few miles from Stone Mountain. I think it holds 50 or 60 people.

I'm looking for a hall to have a wedding reception. However, I need to be able to bring my own food. Do anyone know of any within the covington, conyers, or rockdale area?

If you have only 30 people and want to bring your own catering, do you know anyone with a nice larger house/yard area? That would cost next to nothing and allow you to do anything you want. We had originally planned on having our reception at my wife's parent's house since they had several acres of land, a lake, and everything else we needed...for free. Then they moved, so we couldn't do it.
