I did a search but the newest one that came up was almost a year ago! Anyway, will be staying at the Hilton Downtown tomorrow night and was looking for some good restaurants around that area. Nice but not too, too pricey. No kids with us, would love something local with good atmosphere. Not really sure what cuisine we are looking for yet so just want to get some ideas. Went on tripadvisor but couldn't figure out how to narrow them down to just that area.

I think that it would be worth a short drive to One Midtown Kitchen or Two Urban Licks. Ecco would also be a good choice.

Are you staying at the Hilton Garden Inn on Baker Street or the Hilton on Courtland?

If you're at Baker Street, then you're right on top of the Peasant Bistro and I recommend that place. They have a Shrimp & Grits tapas kinda plate that's a great version of that dish:
The Peasant Restaurants

If you're on Courtland, Social is closer. I can't say enough good things about Social. It's currently my favorite restaurant in the city. Try the Chicken Tagine or the Steak Frites (if steak frites isn't on the board, just ask for it and they'll probably make it for you anyway).
Welcome to Social - Intown Dining at it's finest!

Also, if you're on Courtland, I highly suggest using the sky bridge nearby to walk through Peachtree Center. You'll have a more pleasant experience that way since there can be some panhandlers and vagrants, unfortunately, on that section of Courtland. At night those streets on the east side of Peachtree Street are not as filled with activity as they are during the day and the Downtown Ambassadors (good watchful eyes to have around) don't seem to make it over that way.

Right near the Hilton you could try Ray's in the City, which is a seafood restaurant, Durango Steakhouse, or Fire or Brazil, which is a rodizio.

Trader Vic's is in the basement of the Hilton. I can't vouch for their food, but it's a good place for drinks and fun ambience.

Agree with Rathbun's and Two Urban Licks. Other suggestions are MF sushi bar or Il Mulino, (its at the Ritz). Il Mulino is part of a small "chain" in the major cities, but really good. Another option is Silk, if you like Japanese. Then walk over to Chocolate Pink for dessert. Yummy stuff there!
