Since your husband will be working in Stone Mountain, I think Snellville would be a good first choice and possibly Lilburn as a second choice. I think either one would be better than Duluth, Norcross, Decatur, or Tucker.
BTW I am also from San Diego. You will not have the beach or the breeze; but, you will have plenty of trees and bugs!
There is more to Snellville than just Highway 78 (thank God). There is plenty of shopping and many restaurants on Scenic Highway, about a mile north of Highway 78. It is much newer and MUCH more attractive commercial development. Highway 78 is just another one of Atlanta's older, VERY unattractive commercial highways.

Thank you very much from the two of you from San Diego.. I swear this really is the most beautiful city in america.. I love it here and I know georgia will take some getting use to. We are leaving friends who have became family and our world behide. Im not excited at all.. Im scared cause all I hear about is the crime and more crime.. I will look into Snellville..I heard the brookwood school zone is the better area?? and I ll look into the second choice.. Do you know of any apartments or condo/townhouses worth looking into.. Gated communities??? Thankbyou again for your time
