Which route is better threw Atlanta. I-75 or 285 does time of day or day determine best time? ............

I-75 at all times of day. Trucks aren't allowed on I-75 inside of I-285 (the perimeter as the locals call it) so if you drive the perimeter you get stuck with all the trucks, if you drive 75 inside you get to miss them all. I-75 will get congested in downtown Atlanta when it merges with I-85 but a little congestion is worth avoiding the horrid congestion and mess that is the perimeter. I certainly suggest avoiding the metro area during rush hour but otherwise happy travels.

Morning is about 7:00 to 9:30 evening is about 4:00 to 6:30. Off course on any given day rush hour can start earlier and last last longer. Fridays are the worst. Coming from Florida the evening rush hour will be much worse then the evening. Going to Florida traffic will be much worse in the morning.

Rush hour usually starts at around 3:30pm or 4 and ends at around 6:30pm, assuming there are no accidents, which, 9 times out of 10, there is one. Friday it starts a little earlier and ends a little later. Peak times in the morning are around 7:30am and ending at around 9. This is if the weather is good, when it rains, it's a nightmare. It also depends on where you're coming from, too.
