My friends and I want to come to Atlanta for the 4th of July. Since the 4th is on a Wednesday we wanted to know if it would be better to come the weekend before or the weekend after. We are in our mid 20's and want to know what are good spots to attend.

I'd do the weekend before just because it gets steadily hotter each day, peaking about the third or fourth week of July.

I wouldn't wait much longer to make reservations--hotel/motel.
The Peachtree Road Race is begins in the early AM on July 4. Attracts thousands--runners and spectators.

There are fireworks displays across the city in the evening. Lots of traffic to and from these events.

What are your interests? Posters will offer more suggestions if they know what you like.

Most people like to visit the Aquarium and Stone Mountain and tour Buckhead--nightlife/entertainment.

sls

Bring lightweight clothing--LOL--hot with humidity. Sometimes rains around the 4th--which is sort of nice. Cooler.
