Someone my husband works with (here in South Florida) asked how our GA trip was. Hubby told him how we stayed in Buford, and he was like, "Oh man! That's the Boonies. I lived in the Vinelands." My husband thinks he said it was the Vinelands. Is that right? Where is that, etc? Why exactly is Buford the boonies? Is it because it's not in Atlanta? It seems to have everything (in Buford)?

Yep, could be Vinings.

Maybe also...

1. "The Highlands" (an incorrect nickname for Virginia-Highland or even Poncey-Highland...the "s!" )

2. "Virginia-Highlands" (Should be "Virginia-Highland"...no "s"...many people say the neighborhood incorrectly)

So...

Vinings, "Virginia-Highlands," or "The Highlands"

Completely agree!

All of which are great close in areas. All of which are way way out of your price range of around $220k I believe. Decent houses in those neighborhoods start in the $400-$500k range. Sorry!

Oh, I wasn't looking for that area (to live). I was just curious where it was that my hubby's fellow P.A. had lived. I refuse to pay over 500k for a house (i could never justify that LOL). Then I could stay here in SoFla or move back to Long Island

The 'Vinelands' sounds a little like the amalgam 'Smynings'...given to the area years ago when Smyrna wanted to be Vinings(or so some people thought). At various times over the past two decades, Smyrna has wanted to distinguish itself from Vinings OR benefit from the confusion WITH Vinings.

How about 'NoVine' for north of Vinings or 'SoVine' for southern Vinings...so many possibilities!

How about an ad campaign...The 'Vinelands'--kind of like Vinings but not!
