First, we just went to Tallulah Falls and it was great! You have trails that involve a LOT of stairs (about 1100) to get down the falls so you should not have heart problems if you want to take this on.

As for spring growth...the best time to go is when the dogwoods start flowering...around Easter. Then you have dogwoods, early azaleas, cherry trees...all in bloom.

*sigh*...there's not too many places in the USA prettier than the Piedmont region in Spring.

The trees begin leafing out around the beginning of April, depending on the variety. Early and mid-April are peak time for flowering trees and shrubs.

There's a really good fine dining restaurant (despite its name) called the Canyon Grill at an intersection in the town near cloudland canyon. Food is not what you'd expect way out there in the middle of nowhere.

I second this. Went last fall and it was awesome, will definitely be back.
