I may consider moving to San Jose first before going to Geogia - because of the better IT job market. Which IT companies would allow me to relocate 1 or 2 years later?

Wouldn't that depend to a large extent on the nature of the position one has at the company? Someone who need physical access to servers or people isn't going to have as much flexibility for relocation.

We have developers all over the globe, for example, but sysadmins and network people tend to be located where the data centers are.
