What is your favorite skyline in Atlanta (and why)? Buckhead, Midtown Downtown, the Perimeter.

It was hard for me to choose between Buckhead and Midtown...

I chose Buckhead.

Why? The ever-emerging skyline and the Peachtree Road upgrade reminds me of Avenida Paulista in Sao Paulo.

Also, the topography, greenery, forest, and bucolic neighborhoods that nuzzle right up to the skyline spine.

Midtown is great as well...really for the same reasons as Buckhead. The contrast between hyper-urbanity along Peachtree Street and the bucolic neighborhoods of Ansley Park and Midtown (the single-family homes part) has no comparison in the entire world. Many urban planners and urban scholars often remark about this.

Buckhead and Midtown are close calls for me too, though I voted for Buckhead.

I think the view of the Midtown skyline from Piedmont Park across the pond is beautiful. But the additions in Buckhead of the Mansion and the Sovereign give it the overall edge IMO.

Lol what do you mean by "messy"? If by messy you mean a lot of buildings in a small space, that's good! That's what makes skylines good!

I'll agree with you on the Sovereign, but I've got to disagree on the Mansion- it looks like a 40-story prison, IMO. If I'm going to pay multi-millions for a condo (which I/m not, but that's beside the point...lol), it better have expanses of glass that allow me to experience the panoramic view- that building needs at least twice the glass that it has.

For the record, though...I had to choose among the four. However, I like all of the Atlanta skylines...Cumberland included.

They are all beautiful and unique in their own way. They all add to the beauty of this forest city...the skylines floating on a sea of trees.

My favorite, though, is the view of downtown coming up (down?) Freedom Parkway, right where it meets Boulevard. Especially around 7am when the colors of the morning sky are reflected off the buildings. It's stunning and it seems that you can reach out and touch it. And when you're out for a run at that time, whoa...

I agree, also if your are traveling south on 75/85 at night, its great, or traveling north at night at the grady curve. I live downtown, so I'm biased.

Though I will admit I have a sentimental partiality (is that redundent?) to the Midtown skyline...because I can see the very top of the pencil building from my porch.
