Yes I know they are in different counties but that is part of our dilemma. We are relocating from MI and will be renting a house for at least 2 years but will eventually buy a house in hopefully the same neighborhood.

We have 2 small children so schools are a concern. From our listings to view I see that the schools we will be dealing with include::

Any help on these schools?????

Russom, Shelton, Burnt Hickory

Ford, Vaughan, Picketts Mills

1. Budget RENTAL up to $2000/month
2. House/Condo/Townhome? HOUSE
3. Employment Status(commute/work from home) I stay at home, my husband works from home most of the time but will be traveling to the I-285/I-75 area a few times a month and the airport.
4. Children(public school vs. private) public see above
5. Suburban or Urban lifestyle preference or a mix of the two suburban
6. Easy access to public transit, important or not? not
7. Preferable demographics of desired neighborhood. Our criteria included family friendly, shopping nearby, subdivision amenities

Thank you in advance for your help

Seven Hills and Bentwater are in Paulding County, aren't they? (The line is so close out there that I forget what developments are in what counties some times). Bentwater is huge development. Brookstone has been around awhile but has beautiful homes and a great location. This area is going to meet all of your criteria, so I will list what I know.
1. Other posters will know more about prices.
2. These are all houses.
3. Your husband won't be super close to the airport, but there are worse locations.
4. Do Brookstone students go (eventually) to Allatoona High? If you are planning on being in the area a long time, this is something to consider for the future. This is the newest high school in Cobb County and, from what I hear, is really state of the art. It seems like there was quite a bit of discussion and the subdivision was split up somehow on attendance.
5.This is a very suburban area -- exactly what you are hunting.
6.There is no public transportation.
7. I think I know where 7 Hills is (I believe it's off Harmony Grove Road). I am very familiar with the locations of the other two developments, so I'll add some more information. Believe me, you will be in the heart of suburbia. The area is pretty and very safe.

I have no idea what rent is running in the developments mentioned. Leaving this factor out, I would choose Brookstone. This is not to say Bentwater isn't just as nice -- it is a huge development with amenities and is newer. I have known, although not well, a few people who lived in it and they loved the development. However, they did not have children in the schools. Some other posters can chime in regarding the schools for Bentwater and 7 Hills. Here's why I would choose Brookstone -- you will have everything you need for daily living and then some right outside the subdivision entrance off Mars Hill Road. There is a Publix and Kroger (grocery stores), Walgreens and Rite Aide (there may even be a CVS), a post office, a large regional library, a YMCA, a skate park (operated by the Cobb County Recreation Department), a few banks, some fast food restaurants (I know McDonald's and Waffle House are there, it seems like they may have built a few more), a few sit down restaurants (the Mexican one is really good), a cleaners, car wash, beauty shop and gas station. Brookstone is in Cobb County and has excellent county services, especially its library and parks system.

I am certainly not downing Paulding County. I know several people who live in various parts of Paulding and love it. Some areas are suburbia and other parts are still rural. Bentwater has a few stores near one area of the development -- a gas station/ convenience store, pre school, beauty shop/tanning bed and one or two other things. I don't have prices or information regarding memberships for the amenities. Also, I wonder if you have to actually own the property to join some of the activities. I have lived in places where only the home owners could join the pool, club etc. but did allow people to rent, so be sure and check on this. It would be terrible to be telling children all of the time, "no honey, we can't go to the pool right up the street!" LOL. Good luck and DM me if you need more information.

The northern 1/4 to 1/3 of Brookstone attends Allatoona High (and Pickett's Mill Elementary). The rest of the country club neighborhood attends Harrison High (and Ford Elementary). I think all of Brookstone attends Durham Middle.

Default Bentwater vs. Seven Hills vs. Brookstone

I would definitely choose Seven Hills if you have children or love Golf. The Amenities at Seven Hills are amazing! There's a WaterPark / Pool, Sport Courts including 10 Tennis Courts, Volleyball and Basketball Courts, Clubhouse, and Amphitheater and Seven Hills is only blocks away from Bentwater Golf Club.
There's a MUST SEE home for sale right now that will amaze you. Check it out at: 20graydoveway.info
