Hi we are moving from South Florida to Atlanta this summer and we were wondering about JCC summer camp for kids. They seem to have a "busy" program with lots of activities. We were in the ALpaharetta area last summer and we had them at the Lifetime camp and they were happy, but I think they need a little more this time around. Any feedback will be great. Any other excellent day camps in ther northern side of town?

High Meadows Camps are fabulous as is (are?) the Kingfisher camp at Chattahoochee Nature Center. Actually, I think your kids might be to old (or close to it) for High Meadows.

The JCC Camps are themed and well done and now are offered by the week, so a child can do a variety of activities. Of course, some activities are consistent, ie swimming, among the camps. JCC camps are very pricey -- but I am guessing you already know that.

JCC Camp is fantastic. They offer absolutely everything under the sun. You don't have to be Jewish to attend either. From what I hear of my friends' kids, High Meadows is also a highly coveted program. I think they have an online application that starts Tuesday night and fills up fast. Both programs are excellent and the JCC is offering a free bus service this year to kids from all over town. That's worth sending them alone!

Actually, High Meadows signup started today! Got my two signed up by 7 AM. I don't know if it truly fills up that fast, but that was the word through the grapevine!
