Greetings All...

This is my very first post here and its because I have searched all over this place for any info on churches in Cobb County that applies to us without any luck.

My husband and I just moved here and while we LOVE our neighborhood, love our new home, we have had no luck at finding a new church to call home without an hour commute. We don't even know where to start. so please HELP us. We live near Stilesboro/Mars Hill area.

The challenge for us is that we are a young African American Couple in an area where there doesn't seem to be many culturally diverse churches. I am baptist, he is Catholic, we would like to consider both. What's most important is that we enjoy our experience. We are open to churches that are culturally/racially diverse and as well as those that are all black. We would prefer a more modern feel but we also respect traditional formality. What's most important to us is finding a good church family. I've asked a few people in our neighborhood but they don't seem to know of any that meet these criteria. Please help us!

Thank you.

St. Teresa's Episcopal. Right by Mars Hill and Stilesboro! The Episcopal church is very popular with mixed Catholic/Baptist couples - there are couples with just that background at St. T's. It's not very racially diverse, but the population is mostly white in your area, right? You should find a warm welcome.

Liberty Church on North Cobb Parkway in Marietta (just north or intersection with Bells Ferry) is not far from you and one of the few truly multi ethnic congregations in the area.

Trinity Chapel off of Macland and Old Lost Mountain Road is another.

www.trinitychapel.org

Both are more on the charismatic side, but your backgrounds are well suited for either one.

Hello. I understand your dilemma as my husband and I had the same issue after moving to West Cobb. We were members of a large missionary baptist congregation, but the commute was too much and we needed more intimacy. The search was difficult to say the least!!! We have three small children and needed something close. If you prefer a larger church --Word of Faith w/ Pastor Dale Bronner is an excellent choice, smaller churches in the area would be Pleasant Grove MBC, Sweethome MBC in Hiram, Gospel Nation Church. All were good experiences for our family. I hope this helps.
