I remember this shooting because I was in class and messages were sent to the cell phones of Kennesaw State University students. 3 people have died from the shooting. As sad as this is, this isn't a shock for me. This kind of mass violence has occurred in places few people expect. Any thoughts about this?

It is. At first, I literally thought there might have been a shooting on the KSU campus, kind of like what happened at VT 3 years ago. I found out it was at the Penske place. I thought about it for a moment. I have walked by that place. Honestly, that part of Barrett Lakes Boulevard(the part where Penske/Vulcan quarry is) has given me the creeps, especially at night. Oddly enough, I am noticing more of these "wholesale" shootings as the economy has gotten bad. The murders between individuals has gone down, but it is these mass shootings that are happening more.

It's unfortunate, but workplace shootings aren't new. Remember Mark Barton?

I don't remember him. I haven't even heard of him.

Probably for the best. He was a sociopathic nut from Stockbridge who bludgeoned his wife and two kids to death before killing nine people in a spree shooting in a couple of day-trading firms in Atlanta. Then he killed himself as police closed in. This was during the summer of 1999.

What a scary day. An earthquake in Haiti and the Kennesaw shooting.

Seems the motive will revolve around him being upset that the Hispanics kept their job and he was let go...even though, Penske says he wasn't layoff...

smh...Sad...this economy has shaken alot of screws loose....

Pirate, I bet a lot of the students did think about Virginia Tech when they received the messages.

I remember the day trading incident well, although I didn't live here at the time. Mr. Barton drove to north Cobb County and ended his life at a gas station off the 92 exit.
