My son has high functioning autism (Asperger Syndrome), and we are trying to find information from other parents/teachers on the Autism Spectrum Disorder Resources in the Peachtree Ridge / Duluth area. Unfortunately, GCPS offers no information on past, present or future plans for the ASD programs. This makes it difficult for a parent of a child with special needs to make informed decisions. I'm hoping you all can help!
Thank you

I'm not sure about that area, but I will say that Shiloh Middle had a most awesome teacher, Mrs. Washington, who had a class just for that.

I'll also say that Parkwood Farms Therapy Center specializes in Autism therapies, and I believe they work with some of the schools in the Gwinnett system. Check their website and contact Dr. Peterson www.parkwoodfarms.org

A friend's daughter on the spectrum is enrolled in the cluster and is having a good experience. The school has been very accommodating and the child is doing very well.

Are you living here already?

We have friends whose child was at Mason elementary and they were very happy most of the time. They felt her needs were met well.

Most systems are not very forthcoming about special ed services.
