Hello! I am hoping someone can help me find the perfect condo I currently live OTP but work in the city (Piedmont Hospital). I am sick of my commute and have put my house on the market, hoping to relocate closer to work. My husband and I would love to live somewhere where the majority of necessities (grocery, pharmacy, cleaners, dining etc) are accessibly by foot. Atlantic Station seems nice but the Lofts are too small and the new Atlantic is way too pricey. We don't have kids- so schools are not a big issue. My husband works from home but he does travel a bit, so Marta access would be nice for airport trips, but not a must. We want to spend around 300-350K. Any recommendations for safe, walkable communities near the Buckhead or Midtown areas?

Thanks

Mayfair Renaissance is within a very short walk to Piedmont Park. www.piedmontpark.org Your husband could catch the Arts Center MARTA station or Midtown Station to the airport.

Luxe also has some units in your price range too. Luxe - Midtown Atlanta Condos - New - Overlooking Piedmont Park

1010 Midtown : Life on the Curve has some options for you too. It is part of the Midtown Mile Atlanta . An Urban Retail Experience (http://www.midtownmile.org/ - broken link)

Plaza Midtown has a Publix at the base of the building along with restaurants and shops. But I would give the nod to walkabilty to anything closer to Piedmont Park.

Good luck!

Oh and Viewpoint Condominiums, a condo development in Midtown, Atlanta by Novare Group in Midtown too.

My wild card would be White Provision in West Midtown. They have a tax abatement (City of Atlanta taxes).

Figure out which area would fit you best and go from there. If you like a city feel Midtown would definitely fit your needs. If you would like more of a neighborhood feel there are others although Midtown can also have that feel once you get to know it and Piedmont park is a huge plus.

In Midtown you have so many options for housing, browse Georgia Multiple Listing Service or other websites and get a feel for things.

Come down on the weekends and just hang out to get a feel of things. Get a hotel room in midtown one weekend and spend the weekend walking around midtown.
