My family and I are considering relocating to the Atlanta area. I am looking for a suburb area that is safe, affordable and has good public schools. We now live in goodrich, MI which is a suburb of the Detroit/Flint area. I have young children and am in search of a good area where I can raise my children. If anyone could recommend a good area, I would really appreciate it. This move is going to be hard on my family, so I would like to find a place that we can call home.

Thank you,
Patti

There are numerous posts on this subject on the board. Have you searched them? Also, can you be more specific with your questions?

Yes, it would help a great deal if you tell us a general price range for housing that you would consider affordable.

Do you know where you are going to be working? Traffic in the Atlanta area is HORRIBLE. If you don't want 2+ hour commutes, you should know where you are going to be working before deciding on an area. Most 'job centers' have nice subdivisions within a 30 minute drive, and you should concentrate on those.

We are relocating to the Atlanta area (McDonough) in the coming year. I have two teens that I must find a great school for. They are both active in travel soccer as well. Can anyone recommend a neighborhood and/or school system to avoid or to move to.

Patti,
We are relocating too. If you need to be close to the airport and have good access to downtown Douglasville is a great suburb. We have lived here for several years and are only moving to get closer to my husbands job. I live in a golf/swim/tennis community and you can get a great home here. Feel free to contact me if you want more info. We are about to put our home on the market. It's huge and ready to move into. mistycroft@bellsouth.net

Hmm, 7 posts by you to date and ALL of them praising Flint Mill. You wouldn't happen to work for them now, would you?
