No character, no history...just unincorperated Gwinnett. bla. its a typical area that was "once a nice rural area" that is now just bla sprawl. I guess my actual point is that it isn't really an issue. I've lived all over the metro area from Dunwoody to Decatur, and always used Atlanta as my address no matter where I lived. I never used the specific suburb for anything.

...hmmmmm.
I would assume my alma would still service p'tree corners...wheather or not its in the "city" limits doesnt matter unless they want to create a new system for the city...like Decatur...which i seriously doubt.

Of course it would still service P'tree Co'nahs...my point is that it just would be kinda silly to have "Norcross High School in Peachtree Corners, GA."

As you know, Norcross High used be in downtown Norcross.

well, it is an issue, to the folks now living in P'tree Corners...they dont like a Norcross address because of the stigma attached.

Personally I would rather have a Norcross address...because to me...as a native...there is nothing special about P'tree Corners anymore.

WHich is why I would like to see them incorperate, to create an identity, to create a town worth preserving in a 100 years. Right now there is no "town center" to preserve...unless you like strip malls...nothing worth saving.

GA is weird to me coming from Baltimore.

We have very few, incorporated cities and towns. I don't believe their are any in the Baltimore County and they are few in Harford County but they are few and far between. Almost everything is covered by one government.

GA is about to turn into the next NJ with all these towns and cities....

Can you imagine if it was all 6 mile by 6 mile townships like in the midwest?

if we were starting over in 1969 I would be all for a regional government...but now...with all the sprawl...I would like to see a few municipalities take control and create real places out of the mess of the last 30/40 years. Nothing regional works in GA...just look at transit!

i lived in ptree corners for 14 years and i never once heard someone say they would prefer a norcross address. i also disagree - ptree corners is worth saving, and it needs to be saved before its too late. we moved there in 1990, and within two or three years the apartments along ptree corners circle underwent a rapid transition from young people without children to lower income families. after simpson elem. was built, peachtree elementary transformed into a mostly lower class school. the kroger shoppping center has a rough crowd, and its nothing like the local grunges who hung at market place movie theater in the 90s. those are just some examples. i like peachtree corners, and it was a great place to grow up. its residential suburban character is what gives it appeal. thats why its time to act to preserve this. you sound ignorant saying that nothing in peachtree corners is worth saving.
