I have no idea which McDonald's you went to, but the McDonald's near the Masquerade happens to be next door to Zesto's, a local fast food chain. Both are disgusting death sentences (for that matter, so is Taco Mac), in my opinion, but at least you could have eaten at a local chain.

So true, but I do love the occasional Chubby Decker at Zesto's! And their onion rings rule.

Another local option for those on a tight budget near the Masquerade would have been The Varsity.

Or even The Majestic.

Again, I can't in good conscience recommend eating at any of these places, but if McDonald's is part of your normal diet and your price range restricts you to fast food, these places would be better local flavor options.

All good points.

The Majestic should be on any visitors list that wants to check out a surreal late-night scene, Atlanta style!

Hey, at least there you can grab a Greek Salad if you're feeling the need to be a little healthy after partying.

Next time I go up, my questions will be: "Which neighborhood is better to live in... West End or..."

I made the same move years ago (from Orlando).

Absolutely the best decision I have ever made!

I lived in Orlando for two months. Couldn't make things work and it was, by far, the worst city I've ever lived in. Apparently, I couldn't skateboard in front of my complex because of break ins around the area, I had to walk everywhere, and the traffic was horrible (and the city is not pedestrian friendly), and there were NO jobs... ANYWHERE. Tampa's pretty bad also, therefore, Atlanta looks to be a much more logical step.
