My electric bill was $45 last mo (GA Power) and my gas bill was $80 (Scana). I live in a 2200 sq-ft town home.

You guys need to talk to your local news company and get that researched. That was happeing in Virginia Beach, VA. After research they determined at the expense of the monopolized elect co. that the meters were thouroughly checked and 'repaired'. The probroblem with not enough market competition!! Good luck people. That is not an issue to go unannounced!!

In DFW, where new meters are being installed by "Oncor", there are similar problems. I have posted my experiences on the Dallas forum. There are news articles about this happening in Irving, Texas too (a near Dallas burb).

Someone posted this which looks like a good tip:ask Dominion about their new IT division’s Meter Data Management project ? Also, ask them how many errors were found in the current system that calculates rates for current customers . Dig deep, and don’t take what their PR representative has to say as total truth.

1000 sq ft loft - electric was $18 and gas was $75 (+$60 for hook up charge and -$25 for new customer, so really $40). I travel a lot though so I'm only there about half the time.
