I may not agree with much under the gold dome, but... yeah,this one seems like a no-brainer to get behind. Forcing microchips in humans? Georgia Senate opposes forcing microchips into people *| ajc.com (http://www.ajc.com/news/georgia-politics-elections/georgia-senate-opposes-forcing-291174.html - broken link)

So this is what GA lawmakers are spending time with instead of improving transportation and creating jobs -- catering to the paranoid fears of conspiracy theorists. Awesome. Waiting now for GA senators to make a stand against excessive probing during alien abductions.

^I know right, you cares about writing proposals to the fed about receiving billions in federal money for transportation, we'll just fine people that impede the flow of traffic, that will solve things(Blocking the fast lane could cost Georgia drivers $75 - The Times-Herald) we'll be fine with this 750K, we'll through another tea party downtown!

A very backwards legislature.

And yet, the conservatives among us would sooner complain about the supposed mismanagement of MARTA, and never utter a peep about the severe lack of intelligence under the gold dome.

First of all, government doesn't create jobs...except if they borrow money and hire more government workers or setup make work jobs. Business creates jobs by expanding the economy.

Second of all, no one is catering to anyone's paranoid fears. They are merely codifying in law to avoid ambiguity, and I don't know, but I'd bet there may be some cases coming up in the courts. This would clarify that aspect.

Some of you intigue me. You're all for the government controlling our lives from cradle to grave, but something like this you ridicule for no reason.

At some point someone in the Dome will have a family member be the victim of a crime, and they'll be the first to yell, "Why didn't the repeat criminal have a microchip to track him???".

They left out the clause that also forbids the bar code tattoos that they'll one day hold us down against our will to stamp on the back of our necks, too. Silly lawmakers. sigh.

Really? You're arguing that jobs creation is not a function of legislative government? Odd, but...OK, I'll play along. Here, to argue a differing opinion, is one of many news articles available regarding lawmakers creating jobs:
Oregon lawmakers seek to fix budget, create jobs - BusinessWeek (http://www.businessweek.com/ap/financialnews/D9DJI46O0.htm - broken link)

What ambiguity is being avoided by creating a law about implanting a microchip against one's will? Who is confused about the ethics of doing that?

This legislation is a direct response to the paranoia about the alleged microchip implantation aspect of so-called 'Obamacare' (not to be confused with the Death Panel scare);
Coverage under Obamacare will require an implantable microchip., page 1

Wingnuts are in the Dome and we're all paying their salaries.
