This is great news due to the fact that it will discourage some of the riff-raff that rides MARTA from the southside up to Perimeter and Lenox. I remember what Perimeter was like before MARTA came in and although the change was not drastic, it was definitely noticeable - more car break-ins, people just hanging around the mall, etc. If the mall had been more comparable to a mall like Northlake, it would have probably been a more drastic change. A year or so ago I was panhandled in the Best Buy parking lot by a bum who said he just needed a little bit of money so he could "take the train back downtown." I am sure he would find a new place to beg if it costs him a whole day of his begging money just to get up to Dunwoody.

Hah. That's the oldest panhandling line in the book. It doesn't mean it's literally true.
