as if we don't have enough CHR/Top40 with Star 94, Power 96.1, Wild 96.7/105.7, and Q100 (one could even throw B98.5 in the mix because their "Hot A/C" playlist is about 90 percent of the aforementioned), the Dickeys pulled the plug on Journey 97.9 and replaced it with...wait for it..the Top 20. Alright! Just what we needed! More of the same songs over and over available on 7 other dial positions!

What a great market we have for corporate radio! Where else can you get non-stop hits on every other FM station, or non-stop news, weather and traffic! I love this town...

Seriously, glad I have the Pioneer car stereo with a USB input. Here's to you Lew Dickey, the one finger salute comin at ya!

WHY!?!?!? This was one of the few stations on my preset where I could get away from stupid top 10 crap. I don't get it. At all. 96.1 just changed. We don't need ANOTHER one.

There needs to be some serious equalization in formats in Atlanta now. The scale tipped so many format changes ago.. Is all hope lost in Atlanta radio?

^well played.

my partner listens to top ten radio, and sometimes wakes up to it in the morning. i get these nasty earworms where i find myself humming the chorus to whatever banal song came on at 5:30am on q100 before i was actually awake myself...

Never listened to Journey 97.9... what kind of music did it play?

Apparently now I will refer to people with bad taste in music as a "radio listener"... sad

I'd never even heard of Journey 97.9. Man, FM radio is a wasteland in this city (I do like the Regular Guys, though).

The signal is a weak one, so clear reception is a little harder outside the perimeter. I have actually picked it up (albeit not well) as far out as Hamilton Mill.

BTW, Journey played 80's and 90's music. Mainly top hits from those decades. I also liked how they played old Rick Dees weekly top 40s every sunday. Just a few sundays ago they did one from 1992. That took me back.
