Hello everyone,
I have lost my contract job and have no choice but to relinquish my apt. I just can't afford it and the bad part i have only two months left on my lease.

My Feb rent was 6 days late, and my LL refuse to accept rent w/o late fee.Late fees added up to $400 due to LL preferring to file for eviction.(big apt complex) They decided to start w/eviction process.
It's now 15th, and I have not received anything from courts.
I decided to just go ahead and move out,as of yesterday.

Do I wait to get letter from courts and then appear or should I just go ahead and turn in keys letting the LL know I have vacated the apt? I've cleaned apt and is basically ready for a new tenant now!!

How will either action affect me? If I just give then back keys and they release-am I still to req 2 pay two months rent(due to breakin of the lease?

Or should I get evicted then go to court? In court if an eviction is on my record, am I still responsible for the last two month's rent? i know I will be resp for feb rent and late fees.

I really prefer not to have an eviction on my record. i've never been evicted or had my lease not renewed.

Please help asap..thanks
unfortunate times in GA....

What does your lease say regarding breaking a lease.

I was real fortunate once. I couldn't make rent, however, the apartment didn't live up to ANYTHING on their end of the bargain. A certified letter explaining this after I moved stopped all contact. Never heard from them again. Then again, they told me to leave and said I was responsible for paying until someone else rented the apartment. I said, "If I'm paying, I'm staying."
