In the 2008 Presidential election, we saw three distinct political regions in metro atlanta. Obama creamed McCain in Atlanta and the inner suburban counties like Dekalb and Clayton. The race was very competitive farther out-McCain edged out Obama in Cobb, Gwinnett and Henry and Obama edged out McCain in Douglas, Rockdale and Newton. And finally, in the far flung exurbs Obama didn't stand a chance. McCain won over 65% of the vote in Fayette, Forsyth, Cherokee and Coweta.
Knowing this, tell me why you think Metro Atlanta has developed these three distinct political rings and what you think will happen in the future. I don't want any speculation on Obama and 2010 or 2012. I'm talking about a more general political climate, how Metro Atlanta will evolve politically excluding any election landslides that may happen in the future.

ps. I did some calculations and Obama won metro Atlanta 53% to 47%- very close to the national average.

Just what is over exactly?

I'm not aware of anything whatsoever that's "over" right now. (Well, except for Peyton's chance to stop the WhoDat express in O-Ten maybe.)
