Especially fresh veggies, that didn't come from a can.

There's a place in Loganville called "Kelly's", that was great. By the airport you have "BBQ Kitchen." There's "Carver's" west of downtown. There's "Southern Skillet" in Chamblee. "Collard Green Cafe" in Doraville.

Your favorites>?

It's a shame they had a fire.
Maybe they will bring back the great grub that they served when they were in the old Pizza By Candlelight location in Decatur. The food went downhill when they moved to Avondale Estates.

Speaking of fire, I fought two different structure fires at the Colonnade back in the 90's when I was at Station 19 in the VA Highlands.

Kellie's is decent & Mathews is good.
If you want excellent try the Busy Bee on MLK. the busy bee cafe 404-525-9212 (http://www.thebusybeecafe.com/about.htm - broken link)
Bankhead Fish & Soul is also top shelf. Bankhead Fish & Soul, Atlanta, GA : Reviews and maps - Yahoo! Local

In Athens try Peaches. It is damn near perfect food.

Zee's Cafe in Avondale Estates was awesome back in the mid 80's. I sure miss it.

I could name a few other spots but I couldn't guarantee your safety.
