Talking about Kroger, that's the most important part of Atlanta subculture:

Kroger on Piedmont in Buckhead: Disco Kroger
Kroger on Peachtree Rd. in Brookhaven: Granny Kroger
Kroger on Ponce: Murder Kroger
Kroger on Cleveland Ave: Ghetto Kroger

How about the Kroger in Sandy Springs that frequently has tons of very elderly shoppers who seem to be bused in from assisted living facilities? Elderkroger, maybe? It's near my office so I sometimes pop in there and find myself in a crowd of shoppers using walkers, scooters, etc.

The black and white definitions of "Decatur" are definitely on point. I found this out when I first returned to Metro Atlanta after undergrad. At the time, I was at my mother's old house that was in unincorporated DeKalb with a Decatur mailing address. Whenever I would tell someone that I drove to work from Decatur, the whites that I worked with would think "Ponce de Leon" while the blacks would think "Candler Road". It also didn't help that we actually lived closer to Ellenwood (also unincorporated). As a result, when I said that I actually lived off of River Road it would throw everyone off regardless of skin tone.

I've been in Cobb for a little over six years, so I can definitely relate to the "Big Chicken" and "East Cobb Snob" definitions.

A lot of Decaturites are so sensitive to this I hear them respond to inquiries about where they live by adding their zip code: "Decatur 30030...Decatur 30033..."

Does anybody have any Dunwoody Housewife jokes? They were very popular cocktail chatter in the 80's.
Here's one:
How can you recognize a widow in Dunwoody?
She's the one wearing a black tennis outfit.
I was officially an "East Cobb Snob" for years...

But, if I had to choose among the three...

Buckhead Betty.

Rich, high-class, unbeatable live/play location, and oh-so-glamourous.

I guess so...

But, I guess we can assume that Housewife and Betty have male equivalents.

I like Buckhead Bubba even though it is somewhat oxymoronish
