Hey guys! I'm searching for a new, modern apt with all of the bells and whistles, i.e., granite counter tops, stainless steel or black appliances. I'm leaning towards alexander at the district, apex west midtown, or alexan metrowest. Can anyone shed some light on these communities or the area in general? I'm a young professional woman living alone so safety is definitely a concern. If you have any suggestions for other complexes intown, my max rent price is $900 for a 1 bedroom apt. I'd appreciate any feedback.

Take a look at Howell Mill Rd. as well:

Well, I'm just moving into the area currently, but so far I love it. It's definitely less cluttered/hectic than Midtown. I like the mix of shops and restaurants and bars and coffee spots springing up around Howell Mill (starting at White Provision and moving south). A lot of the housing over there is very new, so you ought to be able to find some good deals on some new places with great amenities in West Midtown.

BTW, another option is to consider renting from White Provision. I've seen at least one rental on craigslist before, but I'm not sure if there's anything else available currently. I just bought there, and it's a great condo development.

I had a friend who lived in 1016 Lofts and she hated it. Lots of noise from the club nearby as well as fights and such. Plus her place was broken into a couple of times.

I would personally avoid that complex.
