I'm a 27-year-old attorney, and I'm looking to buy a place in Atlanta.

I currently live in an apartment, but I keep feeling like now is the time to buy. I like the look and location of 1010, but I haven't been in for a tour yet.

I wanted to get input, though, on what you guys think a 2BR might go for in that building or one around it. And do any of the Atlanta vets have thoughts on whether it's a decent investment?

I'm not sure the exact pricing of that building, but i'm thinking at least in the $400k range. I love the whole area around 1010 and 12&Midtown.

However, honestly, you should be able to get a good deal in most condo developments. There are so many available condos in buckhead and midtown, that you should find a really nice foreclosure for a steal. Dont forget to calculate these possible high (and rising) HOA fees.

2 bedroom units start at $334,900 and the highest priced one is $789,900. They are clustered around the $400's. I haven't been there since the sales team have been changed so I don't know what percentage they have sold. Yes it is a great location, but there are a lot of total units in the building.

Depending on your price range, wants and amenities, there are lots of many options out there. Continue to search and do your homework so you can make an educated decision.

Absolutely. Anyone buying a condo in Atlanta should negotiate AGGRESSIVELY with the seller. There are tons of high end, brand new units with ridiculous HOA fees all across the city that have never been lived in. At some point the bottom is just going to fall out - THAT will be the time to buy.

If you MUST buy now, however, just realize you wont ever make money on the deal. Its strictly a lifestyle decision.
