Someone is WAY behind the times....and not just in the ignorant stereotypes category, but also in population statistics. 450,000 and 4 million? Try 550,000 and 5.8 million.

You might want to visit the city a little more often, because you couldn't be more off base in your assessment of Atlanta. 20 years ago it was more like New Orleans in many ways, but Atlanta has improved drastically since then and will continue to rise as the economy improves nationwide. In the next 15 years Atlanta will grow and become more livable, just as it has continued to do throughout history.

I work in Downtown and live in Midtown Atlanta. The initial post about Downtown being dangerous is a crock. My 9 year old daughter occasionally comes to work with me, and she loves Downtown. I have encountered more aggressive panhandlers in a few days in San Francisco and Washington than in an entire year in Atlanta.
