Hi all,
I'm looking among these three buildings and can't seem to find much info on their websites that is very informative (to me). What are the areas like surrounding the buildings -- is one in a better area than the others, or are they the same? What are the demographics like? Safety is biggest concern! Also, amenities and such -- is one better than the rest... Any advice appreciated.

Thanks

Funny you mention these 3. I was working with a client who looked in all three of them among others recently.

They are all pretty close to each other in the midtown area. The Spire and Metro are almost right across the street from each other.

It's a pretty nice area. You might also want to look at the Realm in Buckhead and Cosmopolitan at Lindbergh. We both liked those quite a bit as well.

I thought the pool area at the Plaza was the best. It's a huge open area but it's on like the 5th floor (maybe higher) so it kind of overlooks the city a little. I thought that was a great design idea. We looked at a 2br/2ba on the top floor of the plaza overlooking the city and it was gorgeous. You could see the Dome, GA Tech, and all kinds of things from the condo.

The views in some of those places are just incredible.

Thank you for the response. As for Plaza Midtown, is the area not as good as Spire or Metropolis? It looks closer to GA Tech and if I'm not wrong (I COULD BE) that area is sketchy? Is GA TEch in the bad area or GA State? I'm confused. How about the demographics of the buildings?

It's really not that far away from the Spire and Metropolis. It is close to Tech but it's on the other side of the interstate.

Spire and Metropolis are both on Peachtree which is a more prestigious address and there is more stuff going on around there. Most of the area is developed, there aren't many parking lots left. Plaza Midtown is two blocks west, in between West Peachtree and Springs streets. The isn't as much stuff developed in the area (a lot more parking lots) but Midtown's main grocery store is on the ground floor of Plaza Midtown which is convenient. You are also close to Tech Square which has several shops and restaurants. The demographics of all three buildings are similar. Lots of young professionals, lots of gay men.

Thank you for all of the info... With complete speculation, assuming generally the same 1BR/1BA was available in all three buildings, which would you pick? I have yet to physically been in midtown. Also, are there many straight men there or am I going to be a total minority. I'm extremely friendly and by no means a homophobe (heck, I live in Manhattan), but also don't want to be "lumped" into being a certain thing by others (not sure if ATL is openish or not)

If you really like convenience, I think Spire is a good pick. Don't forget midtown mile is on the way. Eventually that area will become very attractive.

Out of the three I would pick Spire or Metropolis just because of their locations. I don't know that much about the amenities or finishings inside.

I searched web and found that sales prices at Plaza Midtown have gone up quite bit, while Spire remained relatively lower. I don't know why.
