I am so annoyed right now I could absolutely scream. Had somewhere to go this morning, and had to be on time. So I was sure to print out my Google directions in advance looked them over carefully. I actually felt kind of silly because the place is right off Buford Highway and I'm very familiar with the area. Still left thirty minutes in advance just in case. So, where is the street sign for Shallowford? Nowhere to be found. This is the third time this has happened to me and it's beyond frustrating. Honestly if traffic had been heavier we'd be dead right now. I hate being late, especially for something I've already paid for.

There is always a jump in street signs disappearing , around graduation time. Also road signs when kids go off to college. Road signs (ie stop yield etc.) are replaced with in a day. (as soon as they know about them) you can call the road dept, or the NON emergency phone number for you 911 center and report it, Street signs have to be made and are a low priority (Cost $'s to make). General road signs are kept 'in-stock' so they can just replace them.

You know, I used to get POed for exactly the same thing. Atlanta has some of the poorest marked streets I've ever seen. I would be trying to find roads and the signs would be way off to the side (instead of hanging by the stoplight) and the signs themselves would be crooked or hard to read (old), behind something else such as a bush, etc. That's if they had a sign at all. The stretch of Roswell Rd in Sandy Springs used to be especially bad about it until Sandy Springs started renovating that whole area with new lights, signs, etc. Plus it doesn't help that every other street has Peachtree in it.

I finally just got a GPS.

Someone will come along and steal it, too.

This is a situation where I treasure my GPS. It knows the names of the streets on the map even without physical signage being present.

They aren't that expensive, either. I paid less than $50 apiece for the three I have (don't ask why I have three ), and the last one (a Tomtom unit) was only $13.95 given all of the rebates and coupons I had accumulated.

I wish. I just like collecting things.

Three of the same thing would make no sense to me. Instead, I amuse myself by having my Tomtom, Navigon, and iGO8 units all talk to me at the same time while constantly disagreeing about optimal routing. It reminds me of growing up with three brothers.

My wife hates it and doesn't understand. And that's okay. Heh.

GPS Humor. Went on trip with my sister, I had my GPS and my sisters GPS on at same time was fun to hear the two gps argue with each other, one would say turn right other would say turn left.

I absolutely loathe those things. My husband has one and it drives me bonkers. I've already got a 6 year old in the back seat constantly yapping. I spend my entire life just trying to find peace and quiet, to add electronics into the mix is just outside of enough.
