Interstate 3 Augusta GA to Greenville SC
Cities along the ways: Edgefield SC, Greenwood SC and Anderson SC

Or

Interstate 3 Augusta GA to Savannah GA
Cities along the ways:Hephzibah GA, Waynesboro GA, Statesboro GA

Or

Interstate 14 Augusta GA to Macon GA
Cities along the ways: Wrens GA and Miledgeville GA

Im going to say the Greenville connection because the Carolina side of the metro would grow dramatically.

I'd be torn between Greenville and Savannah.

Good point ESD but how exactly would the help Augusta? But Augusta could be a major city in two states via North Augusta-Aiken County and Edgefield County.

I would agree with you on this one, not because of the Greenville metro but the amount of north south travelers that would use this route to get to Florida from north of Greenville vs I-26, it would benefit the city if by nothing else the amount of travelers stopping to take rests and gas up of their way this would add outside economic boost to the areas of the Augusta metro that are along the route.

But that means nothing if they don't continue the interstate PAST Augusta and down to either Macon or Savannah. No one would drive to Augusta just to use some country roads to get to 75/95 to Florida!

My vote goes for the Augusta to Savannah connection. Two of Georgia's most important cities outside of Atlanta along with the amount of growth occurring in the two metro areas. Plus, the route isn't that long. Oh, and don't forget the possible port deepening in Savannah....

Then why not use spell-check or look up the proper spelling, it's not hard.

Anyway, my vote goes to the Sav-Aug-Gvl north/south route for 2 reasons, growth from the port could spill over into our metro, and because we already have the east/west route with I20.

Maybe I should have been a little more detailed in my explanation! I was speaking of the entire Greenville-Augusta-Savannah connection from maybe I-26, I-385 split in Clinton, SC to Augusta to I-16 just below Statesboro you could even go a little further around the back side of Ft. Steward and connect it directly to I-95 below Hinesville, GA.

Going north to Greenville would tie you into I85, and of course south to the port.
